Coffee was the first tree crop introduced to Liberia as an export crop (together with sugarcane) in the mid-19th century. After a decline in the 1980s primarily because of low international price, that has been a planting of new coffee tree stocks of better clones and better quality. We work with coffee farmers all year around to ensure they have the necessary support to produce high quality beans.
Liberica coffee beans are much larger than the more popular arabica and robusta beans.[9] Due to its rareness and limited supply on a global level, the cost of regular liberica beans are on the higher end with premium liberica beans carrying a heavier price tag. The caffeine concentration of liberica beans is the lowest of the three cultivars, with 1.23 g/100 g, where arabica has 1.61 g/100 g and Robusta has 2.26 g/100 g.
